About Be Mayo

There’s something really special about Mayo and being a Mayo person, whether you were born here or came from another part of the world. Mayo has its own character, its own soul. When we hear “I’m from Mayo”, we hear love and loyalty. ‘Be Mayo’ means to be happy, strong, alive and proud.

We have a mission to create a brand dedicated to Mayo and Mayo people – let’s have this one symbol that helps us identify ourselves with Mayo at an instance. We want ‘Be Mayo’ to not just mean to ‘live in Mayo’, but to ‘be a Mayo man or woman in your heart’, no matter where you are, no matter if you live here or just visiting. We want ‘Be Mayo’ to be alive and breathing, as Mayo is you and me, your neighbour, the famer, a smile of a red haired child and the various views and colours of our secret holy mountain - Croagh Patrick. We do not want this to be too serious either, as Mayo is full of fun and laughter. We like to go out, tell jokes and simply have some craic . Mayo also means beauty beauty of nature and beauty of true hearted men and women living here.
